ROAD CONSTRUCTION
PROJECTS IN AFGHANISTAN

These large-scale infrastructure projects carried out in Afghanistan in five years, involved the reconstruction and modernization of the 3,300 km National Highway Network, which had sustained severe damage during years of conflict and instability. The projects not only focused on physical rehabilitation but also supported regional economic development, ensured logistical continuity, and improved national transportation safety and efficiency.

To restore the damaged highway network to operational condition as quickly as possible, all required construction machinery and equipment were transported to the project sites by air. This swift and strategic logistics operation allowed for rapid mobilization and timely commencement of construction works.

Proje Details

Kabul – Kandahar State Highway (km: 92–432) – Material Production

To produce the 20 cm thick Bituminous Base Course aggregate, riverbed materials were screened and stockpiled on-site. This operation was supported by the deployment of five mobile screening plants, each with a capacity of 200 tons per hour. The plants were strategically positioned across four construction sites, spaced approximately 85 kilometers apart, ensuring a continuous and efficient supply of processed aggregate throughout the project corridor.
