ŞİRİNYALI–TAVŞANCIL INTERCHANGE SECTION
Construction
As part of this project, the existing 10 km-long 2-lane (1 lane per direction) road was upgraded to a 4-lane (2 lanes per direction) divided highway. In addition to the superstructure works, five grade-separated interchanges were constructed.
Due to the narrow corridor in the Hereke section—situated between the elevated TEM Motorway and the lower TCDD Ankara–Istanbul main railway line—the standard dual carriageway cross-section could not be applied. Therefore, for the first time in Türkiye, a 7.50-meter-wide cantilevered road design was implemented.
