The project’s aim was to construct 122 km of the existing unimproved road route from Merille River to Marsabit, 500 km northeast of Nariobi, Kenya. The width of the road cross-section is 11 meters with 7 meters carriageway and 2 meters shoulders. The main items are earthworks, a cement stabilized base and sub-base, asphalt concrete wearing course, double surface treatment, composite bridges and viaducts, box and pipe culverts, and road furniture from road signs and markings to posts and guardrails.
