The objective is to enhance transportation efficiency along the corridor and to modernize road management in selected sections.

The 122 km Merille River – Marsabit Highway is a vital part of Africa’s strategic transport corridor, which extends from the Port of Alexandria in North Africa to the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. The project is located approximately 500 km northeast of Nairobi and involved upgrading an existing earth road between Merille River and Marsabit to a fully paved asphalt road.

The Kömürhan Bridge, constructed on the Malatya–Elazığ State Highway over the Karakaya Dam Reservoir, spans a total length of 660 meters. The bridge features a 168.5-meter-high central pylon, and a 24.5-meter-wide orthotropic steel deck.
